Clipshare license is good per single domain I think.

I have no problem buying additional licenses. (that was my first posting)
I just dont want to load or have need to host multiple repositories of videos. I want one base, one database & multiple domain enrty points tailored visually (or aesthetically if I could spell the word) to a niche demographic (and my icing too LOL)

Yes, you can do that. I have a client who does that. I think you need to park your domain. Or, if you are lazy like me, just add a redirect to the site you want.

I think one would need to have the ClipShare script run off the auxiliary domain, so that design and uniqueness can be maintained. Then the videos and database some place central. Then a MOD of some sort to the ClipShare script to access the video files & database on a different domain.

(I think) LOL

Did you do the work for your client and are you a freelance designer? TIA

No, the client did it without my knowledge. I do know what to do, though. I am not a freelance designer either. I just usually do minor things for people. If they take a lot of time, then I charge for it.

Does anyone know if CS' infrastructure is designed to spread on multiple servers as per the original post here? Looking into load balancing and I think this thread somehow falls along those lines.

Anyone tried it?

Default Spread the load

We set up a clipshare site on the cirtex hosting as we needed the ffmpeg etc installed, but found that the delivery of the FLVs was too slow.

As a solution, we set up a remote domain on servage.com which does adult hosting (our site is http://www.myboobtube.co.uk with obviously adult content) and I reprogrammed clipshare as follows:

1: When a video is uploaded it is inactive, modded the code to send me an email with a link to approve the ad. This is a custom script which shows thhe video from the cirtex server for me to approve or reject. When I click approve another script sets the video to active in the main clipshare database - it then redirects to a script on the servage domain passing the video number, and that script then copies the flv file from the flvideo folder on the main domain to an flvideo folder on the servage server.

2: Modded clipshare script to send filename for flvideo file to come from the new server. Doddle.

This gives you options to incentivise signup - get people to log in and then you can drive the video from a faster server.
