Cost me $200 and worth every penny!

But talk to the developer each case will probably be different.

Like I said, for me it was worth it. vBulletin is a great forum, but for me it is also the back plane for my whole site. Any script is worthless to me unless it integrates.

And in my situation the two site are running on different servers and different domains. That's some pretty complicated programming!

Paul, that's my situation too - I have to cater to my vB forum, since it has so many members.

For me the $200 was an easy decision based on that!

It's $200, and it includes installation on your server, DB conversion to support our script (we use MD5 password, much safer than CS 2.6's default setup), and customization of the 7 templates that need it, even if yours are different from the default CS ones.

Since I got a couple of PMs about this - no, we offer no discounts. Value is of course always relative, but the price is not that high if you consider installation (which can take anything between 2 to 4 hours depending on forum size, database condition, and templates used) is included in the price, and that the files we update on CS side are actually also secured against injection attacks. Of course, all the files we do not touch are left as they were previously, but guess it's better having the critical CS files secured instead than the default ones.

The integration is perfect for remote hosting of CS, but we actually use the same script also for same-server setups. This is easier to maintain for us, and it's much more flexible because it makes it very easy for our client to eventually move CS on another server AT ANY TIME, which is something that popular websites will need to do, sooner or later. Having CS and VB running on the same server will lead pretty soon to a terrible performance of your server - if your website is popular enough.

To answer another question I received - yes, cookies are shared as long as your two installations are on the same main domain. So, if CS is on tv.yourdomain.com, and vB is on forums.yourdomain.com, cookies will be available to both scripts - so users won't have to relogin to watch videos if they are logged into the forums, or vice versa.

Paul_G paid $200 because this has been custom developed for him. Now that you have the code ready, it should cost less. Just my opinion. As for installation, I don't understand how it can take 4 hours, it's just overwriting 7 files, running a php file in 10 seconds that changes the database and converting passwords to md5 and installing an xml in vbulletin that also takes few minutes.
