I believe Chris has the intention to put some parts so you easily select colours, but I think if you want to change the entire colour design, it would probably be easier to buy a different template. Chris has made a really nice template based on a white background, you should check it out on his website (clipsharetemplates.com).

I like it, but I I were to make a template base on other sites, I would think I would get hammered with neg comments.
I look slike Darkside with with a face life and makeup.

I am in the process of making a cool template based on no other sites.
Also what Id the deal with not wanting too many pictures, because of slow loading. I use heavy graphics on mine and it loads just as fast as any other site out there.
After all, we stream videos. Should have high bandwidth to start.

You know anybody who own CS and uses it with his dialup?
I mean it sounds like some people have to have their page load NOW.
To me, there is no difference in load times under 2 secs.
youtube loads about as fast as my site, though I should repalce one graphics, it is always the last to load, but hell, its over 1500 pixels by 900 or so.

But, this template is alright. Doesnt seem to be NEW tho, just a remake.

Lets see your piece of work? Chris has done a great piece of work here. Easy to criticise, but without showing your work, it's a little unfair...

Critisism is good and i have no problems with it.

The two templates i posted are 'generic' they are aimed at a general videosharing website. If i where developing a niche website, of course i would do it slightly different. So yes they are based on 'successful websites' but i put them into my own words so to speak and i think i done it well.

There's only so many ways you can list videos and of course i've not posted my best designs yet

On the image suggestion, i prefer text and css over images so it goes into my designs. As images is your preference it is not mine for one main reason really.

I'd like people to easily customize my templates so make it their own. Changing colours throughout easily which can be done via images but would take alot more time if you didn't know how to photoshop.

Chris,you sucks as a designer to think that you have to copy dailymotion layout in order to sell your templates for monetary gains.This thread has been reported to dailymotion,I have a confirmation from them they would seek consultation with their lawyer to pursuit lawsuits against copyright issues.This page has also been archived and mirrored in order to provide further evidence

the template is not even being sold! Chris was just giving ideas on a new template that he might sell or give away in the futur. The only part that was inspired from dailymotion, was the position of two images. I don't think you can have lawyers look into the position of 2 images on a design layout... Especialy that other big well known tubes are using a similar layout to dailymotion...

I think dailymotion have more important issues to deal with than a template that has two images positionned in a similar way to theirs... And Chris may even have thouth by know of a different way of putting those two images...

I don't get your point... Anyway, this is just my thought...

If you want to push it that far, you could also call youtube and tell them that dailymotion are copying youtube with a software that is sharing video in a similar way... Do you get my point?

Don't worry Matt, I welcome Benjamin Bejbaum or any of the DailyMotion team to contact me regarding the design. I've studied internet law, copy right infringement on the web among other things so i look forward to hearing from DailyMotion.

It's not a copy of dailymotion, im not going to explain how as it's simple to see by looking at the two websites.

Very cool but if we have translate the previous template from english to french we have to do it again with this one because you don't use language files like phpBB or other simple scripts, that's amazing !
