yeh ive been css-ing my site for days now... for about a week now infact.. i spent the first 2-3 days reading literally 250 pages on the subject... now im encountering major cross browser compatibility issues with css.. but that may be due to the complexity of my design... but yeh having the templates tableless and css/xhtml standard is a good idea :thumbs up:

Well the lack of documentation certainly doesn't make things easier. Not to mention the fact that editing tpl files is asstastic.

So, DANNY, it's been a while since we've heard from you. An estimated release date would be nice. My site is in beta now because i need a final design. Also, I don't want to hire a designer because I KNOW prices will go down when everything is CSS based. PLEASE give us an ETA.

Thanks to TOMP, that wasted 3 weeks from our time, we have to wait a little bit more for the CSS template. I will make sure this time that i will find a designer who HAS A WORD and know what a DEAL is. TOMP did nothing in 3 weeks, even if he promised numerous times that he is working on it and he will finish it in a few days. Neither informed me that he changed his mind. I gave him an ultimuatum and today he tells me he changed his mind.

If you pay someone they will complete the work...
Its obvious tomp's site viddb is using tableless css so there must be a valid reason for not releasing.

Actually I had a DEAL with Tomp, and he was supposed to receive 50% from all template sale earnings. And that's alot of money, alot more then simply paying someone once to do a template. He agreed with this deal and promised numerous times that he will do it, he even mentioned that in his posts.

He is not probably too busy selling MODS to people, but he was supposed to inform me so i can look for someone else for the template. And to be sincere he would have earned a lot more from the templates the selling mods on the forum

Actually, css designers are quite common these days.

Especially since it's just a re-write/re-code, and you already know what you want done so it's not like they're going to have to come up with something totally brand new.

When I sent out RFQs (requests for quotes) from css designers, I was pretty detailed and it went something like this:

Projects specs and considerations would be:

-- tidy up the source code and convert to css-based templates
-- the site uses smarty so css conversion would need to retain the
existing smarty tags, and its if and else commands
-- the css templates would need to be fully commented
-- the new css template should be given a hint of the web 2.0 feel
-- we will provide you with the raw source code of the files to convert to
css
-- we will provide you with the staging server where we have the script
installed so you can test to make sure the frontend works with the backend
-- we want you to provide us with a before and after load time data so we
can check for improvements
-- you will need to sign a confidentiality agreement to keep the source
code to yourself and/or do not disclose the script functions/applications
we use in the website
