Content Encoding Error, Please with Gzip

Hi,
I am getting this msg in firefox

I put this into my .htaccess

mod_gzip_on No
</IfModule>

Also, I have disabled gzip from siteadmin interface. but stil i keep getting this or a 500 internal server error

Recompile apache and it should take care of your problems.

just as my friend kumbaia rightly said. You definately need to recompile your apache..
