sitemap help, letter from google
hi ya all, ok have been haveing problums with google and my videos, i have over 2700 vids, but only 1500 are indexs. so i wrote google and got this back..
After further investigation, it appears that you have duplicate URLs for your videos which may be causing some confusion. For example, for this "Personal Salt" video that you have on your website, you have two URLs with duplicate content: http://yourbizvids.com/view_video.php?viewkey=893487bd98fa830fa641 and http://www.yourbizvids.com/video/147/Personal-Salt-Commercial.
Your video sitemap sets the location of the video at http://yourbizvids.com/view_video.ph...d98fa830fa641; however, Google is currently indexing the other version: http://www.yourbizvids.com/video/147...alt-Commercial.
If you want one or another URL being displayed in Google's search results, you may want consider using the rel=canonical tag. More information about that can be found here: http://support.google.com/webmasters...&answer=139394.
Once you have canonicals set, you may want to edit your video sitemap to include only locations that are indexed in Google's search results.
If you would like more specific advice, we strongly urge you post in our Webmaster Help Forum, where members of the webmaster community may be able to help you: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Webmasters?hl=en.
