Hello
I have noticed that users constantly come up with suggestions for new features to Clipshare. So in order to let users know if/when a suggested feature will appear in CS i think it would be great if the staff made a thread with a roadmap for the future development of CS. Does anyone agree with me on this and what do the devs have to say about this ? |

This existing forum should probably be the basis for such a "road map."
http://forums.clip-share.com/49-feature-requests/ If you notice, in that thread, Adrian (Symtab) often comments on suggestions and says if they are "in the plans" for the next release. Maybe you could start a new "Road Map" thread there.... which compiles all of the features which have been acknowledged by Adrian (Symtab) as planned for inclusion. It could be added to periodically and would become a guide for the future release. It seems good to keep the suggestions and "road map" in the same "feature requests" forum. |

I agree with you - the Feature Requests forum would be the most natural place to have it.
Now we only have to wait for a comment the devs about whether or not they would consider the suggestion. |

You could just do it as an independent project in that same Feature Requests forum. Start a new topic called "road map" and then one-by-one review all of the currently suggested feature topics, compiling (for example in your Notepad or a word processor) all of the feature topics where Symtab has commented (and stated that the feature idea discussed in that topic would be included in a future version). Then paste your listing in your new "road map" topic. As Symtab makes further acknowledgements to other suggested features... the "road map" topic could be continued. It would be a progressive compilation, keeping track of features to which at least a cursory commitment by Symtab has been made. I don't think you would need any approval from anyone and it would be quite a useful (and interesting) endeavor.

I'll agree this could be an iteresting project, however, i don't think it should be up to the users to make a roadmap for CS due to the fact that a user made roadmap would only be highly speculative.
This could lead to other users getting disappointed if/when a suggested feature don't find its way into CS and as a consequence the devs. would find themselves in the direct firing line from angry users. So i think it would be best if we had a developer made roadmap - this would also spare them the hassel of answering the same questions over and over again about new features, because users could just look at the road map. |

The "road map" needs to be something dynamic. We already have the requested features forum and they do get commented on by Symtab. Therefore, I believe that the "road map" would end up quickly to be everything you are hoping for. I think that once the "Road map" thread is started... showing requested features which have been tentatively acknowledged as having "approved" or planned for upcoming versions.... then many will join in to keep the "road map" updated (I know that I will help from time to time). That thread would become "wiki-like, " as a sort of "Symtab says 'yes' to these" sort of compilation. And, my guess is that you might even see Symtab post in that thread periodically as well.... it's worth an effort.
