Paying members?

does clipshare 3 has support for paying members? fx only members paying $5/mnth will be able to watch videos?
if i have a biller that posts user/pass to a htpasswd file, can clipshare just read that file and allow the htpasswd user/pass's to watch videos?

I'm fairly certain the new version supports restricting videos by usergroup, so I'd try to incorporate that with your billing system instead.

Paypal function is supposed to work now, from what Danny/Aryos have detailed.

does it allow the member to pay for membership through paypal.. And automatically add them to the Group so the system is automated..

If you you had to manually do this it would defeat the purpose

I haven't confirmed it but yes, member status on your site with version 3 should automatically update once payment has been processed through Paypal.

So how does this work, for the adult sites, since paypal claims they will not process payments for any sites with content like such?

I have a mod, just becasue of the paypal/adult content issue, that allows payments via SMS. It works directly off of a SMS payment site and is incorporated with another mod, the forced registration mod.
Basically it gives limits of videos watched by normal members and once they reach the limit they get redirected to a page like credits.php where they have a code to text to the sms company then they get assigned an expiration time.

I kinda though this was the only reliable way to get payment for adult sites.
I'd hate for paypal to take the payment back, as they have done to me b4, and leave me in the hole for who knows how many $$.

If you guys think you want to try the SMS payment mod, i may set it up a little better than what it is now, but you will have to register with the company b4 you can actually have any use of this mod.

Great idea! You should look into writing a custom payment bridge for CCBill too. They accept adult sites and some of the more serious Clip-share site developers (because there is a hefty upfront fee for CCBill) might be interested in this.

there isn't actually an upfront fee to pay to ccbill, however VISA charge a $750 registration fee, so thats where the initial cost kicks in.
