Here's my note I posted on the Drupal forum....
-----------

Hello,

I've been looking for the ideal solution to help me build my website. At first I was migrating towards YouTube clones such as Clip-Share and Rayzz. However, I discovered Drupal after seeing a great site powered by Drupal (http://icommunity.tv), which uses news clips mashed with Google Maps API. Some features I'm looking for in my site are:

-YouTube-style listing (Clip-Share and Rayzz both offer)
-Support for Photo and Album uploads, as opposed to videos (Rayzz offers)
-networking community (ability to add friends, build "channels" based on common interests, etc)
-Google Map mashup (Rayzz is developing the feature, but not yet released), allowing users to geotag their submissions
-a vibrant and active support community, with programmers available to do customization

Although I'm very passionate about my web idea, I'm also deeply involved in my current career, and would need to outsource installation and customization -- hoping to cap expenses to $2000-$4000 for setup.

I'd love to hear the experts' thoughts on whether Drupal would be a viable solution for me, given my needs and lack of pramming skills. Also, any other sample sites utilizing Drupal and that feature any of the functionalities I listed would be a great resource for me.

Thanks!
Josh

It's not so complicated to create a script to generate google video sitemap.
Just did generator for default Clipshare 2.6 version.

Personally I use little bit different sitemap as my URLs for videos and thumbs are different.
The sitemap for clipshare 3.xx also requires small modification for video urls.

In sitemap example "<video:family_friendly>" tag for "Yes" is used.
I'm sure you know what it means.

The sitemap example doesn't use embed video url as many websites use so different players with different embed code.
In many cases it's not possible to use it for video sitemap.
Embed url must be clear and short. Not using flashvars.

Please don't ask me to release it as a free mod.
I can't be responsible for sitemaps created because it is very individual case for each nearly clipshare website.
So very often such generator script requires small modifications.
First I should see website, check all things, then finally prepare generator.

Thanks,

- D.

Thanks dargre.

Are you talking about a site map, as in a hierarchal display of a website page flow? I'm referring to using Google Maps to geotag submissions. P.S. -- I love the layout of your Clip-Share template.

Thanks!

If you look at sitemaps xml you should know this is not simple Google sitemap for the website.

This is Google Video Sitemap. Still new for some webmasters.
If you need some more info about this kind of sitemap:
http://googlewebmastercentral.blogsp...-sitemaps.html
and
http://www.google.com/support/webmas...py?topic=10079

And Google videos search engine:
http://video.google.com/

Your videos can be listed and searched too, if submitted Google Video sitemap.
That's what the thread is about...I thought.

Of course you can also have independent regular website sitemap and submit it to Google and Yahoo.

Thanks so much for the great example. I submitted mine too. I haven't yet seen my videos yet in the SERPs yet though.

I think I figured out a way to get the maps api to work, If I can, I'll add it to the mods thread.

Thanks for the tips!

I created a google maps video mashup that incoprorates one clip-share site and a bunch of other video sites. No one is allowed to register right now but you can check it out: www.mytageo.com
