That's so encouraging :-D

I'm having the same issue as Micro here, although when I threw a bunch of different formats at it (2.6), I was able to get .avi, .mpg, .wmv files to encode but others (.mov, mp4) simply would not. So I'm a touch better off but not by much and both of us should be golden.

I looked at the mencoder - or rather the Mplayer - site and they say it can encode nearly every type, including (according to their list) the ones that won't work for me. So I guess we need to check.

I don't know how to check what mencoder version we're running and again, like Microsoft, I have access to root et al as well. If we could find out how to check and from there what we need to grab (I figured out how to install through ssh) to solve this issue, I think Micro and I would be very thankful. Him more than me I'll bet, since he can't get ANY files to work. :'(
