SMF integration complete

I've finished a partial integration of Simple Machines Forum (V 1.1.3) with CS3... I say 'partial' because it does not support of of CS's features such as groups, which I've let SMF handle instead.

It took some time get it the session handling down but all login/logout/profile management is handled by SMF. It enables SMF's handy SSI functions which let you integrate the forum back into CS (eg. you can very easily show your top threads, recent posts, calendar events, SMF polls etc. on your CS index page or anywhere else).

I'll run it for a few weeks to work out the bugs and then will decide to make it available or not, depending on interest.

seems to work fine but i'm still working out little bugs and adding new functions. SMF will be adding OpenID support in their next release and this mod should be compatible with that, but there's not much info available.

This is a great post and makes me think of where I can fit in. I do a little bit of everything mentioned here and I guess I have to find my competitive advantage.
