Hosting Question...

Hello everyone..
Can I ask where everyones hosting there sites at? I signed up for an account over at http://www.cirtexhosting.com/ and I have to say its the worst hosting I've ever had.. the site goes offline at least once an hour for about 30 sec's. the the speeds are up and down all day long..

I guess I got what I paided for! So now I'm looking for a host that won't break the bank but will keep my site online allday long...:?:

LOL let me guess your on the cheapest package?

The more you pay the more you get out of it... i.e. look at their Professional plan on a shared server to start off with.. then shoot off to semi dedicated.

Yes I got the cheap one, cause all my other sites are hosted else where, but needed someone that would host with the required things and my host doesn't offer that upfront its a fee and I'm not about to pay for things to be installed on a server thats not even mine..

So the question still remains, wheres everyone hosted at??

yeh that's like mine.. all my sites are hosted at hostgator.com apart from my video sharing website.. that WAS @ cirtex... i started with professional plan.. then that was too slow for me so i went to the middle package for Semi Dedicated... that was much better...

you gotta pay up whether you like it or not.. thats if you want to make your video sharing website a success...

When you know that something is online to find on that domain (in this case, cirtexhosting.com, then use google and search like this):

And you get's result from cirtexhosting.com ONLY.

the big problem i see with them is the lack of scalability of your video site. the pro plan will only host 30 100mb videos and the $85/month semi-dedicated plan will only host 700 100mb videos.

after that then what do you do? i would suggest looking at co-location so that you can add hard drives as you go.

if you are intending to stream 700, 100mb videos on site (i know not at the same time.)

I would for one not go with cogent bandwidth witch cirtex obviously uses and i really want a dedicated on my own that has a full 100mbps available.

cirtex are ok semi dedicated but beware of their shared hosting.

i am looking to update my server for clipshare. The cirtexhosting Pro plan giving me lot of hassle. I'm not happy with it at all.

Will you please recommend me someone? i need something really cheap but reasonable. I'm thinking about http://www.cirtexhosting.com/semidedicated.shtml SD1 or http://www.hostonnet.com/ffmpeg_hosting.php $20 plan. That's actually my price range. I really want to make sure that we will be able to upload 100MB+ files and page load will be fast for www.BDtube.com
