Default Multipls server question

I have a website that I want to add clip-share to.

The current hosting for this website is excellent, but it is expensive for the storage space.

I see there is a multiple server plugin. Does this mean I could have my members upload all the videos to an alternate storage server (like clipshare's hosting service) but they never feel like the leave my main website?

That's what it should do, but I have yet to see a site utilizing the plugin yet. Anyone care to input that have used it as I'm curious as well.

Hello,

The multi-server module works like this:

Users upload videos on your main site. They then are redirected to an upload (remote)/conversion server and they then upload the video on the remote server.
The videos are then converted and streamed from the remote server.

also, if using this feature, what are the requirements of the local server (not the video hosting server)?

Hi,

If you want to use the multi-server plugin, following requirement apply:
1. SSH root access on all servers.
2. Every streaming (video storage server) must be a subdomain of the main server, eg: mainserver.com, storage1.mainserver.com, storage2. mainserver.com.
3. Mysql access from the storage servers to the the main server.

The plugin works exactly like Serpant described in this thread.
