Well, things are like they are. For me, it is not clip-share 5 that is crucial, but multi server module. Of course i can always hire someone to do this, but that comes to a price. And not small probably.

For now multiserver module is not there, thus no possibility of scalability. For example for conversion alone i will have a server with 24 cores (up to 23 videos converting at same time).

For now, it is hard to know anything since release dates never come out. The thing with a release date is that it is tangible, something you can relate too. Like phpfox, a social script. They really have kept ut with their release date thsi autumn.

So what to expect from clip-share? I have been chatting with danny, and he says they are "likely" going to release avs version 3 in end of december. Clip-share in end of month.

On advice to all developers. It is better to release minor updates, than the one of epic art, because we think there will be no tomorrow. One site that follow clip-share example is www.modenacam.com Never release news for 2 years really, but wow what new script the released recently. Brilliant!!!

So there are several ways in releasing it. We customer will be just as happy to se a new AVS or clip-share. But many will also just walk away, and that is lost business.

I do hope clip-share get a release now soon. Because without multi-server module there is no possibility of scalability. And i hope it is real multiserver with possibility not only to store on different places but also stream from one server and convert from another et c...

Anyway, this is not to much critics, i just prefer the phpfox way of wórking with updates and scripts. Small steps, instead of giant step. It is a sort of reliability taht soemthing is still happening.

kr

Has there been any update on this? It is now almost 2 years later since it was said that HTML5 wold be ready by January 2010 and with Flash not working on iPads, and iPhones or other mobile users etc, it is now compulsary.

We are looking in to getting a site up an running in January 2012, but wont even consider using this script if it doesnt come with HTML5.

Basically to have HTML5 site, enough is to change html tag on top of "header" template and site should still be fine.
But as HTML5 is mostly for other than PC devices (ipod, ipad, mobile) - such site should be rather minimized and narrowed, so templates should be different, something like mobile template for AVS script.

Then to support videos playing with other than built-in html5 player - must have other javascript wrapper player .
At the moment there are no really good HTML5 wrapper players. Most of them are simple and with very basic functions. Best are JW and Flow, but in my opinion still not worth switching from default player.

Soon I will also release basic HTML5 javascript Nuevoplayer, with all available skins support, later - if people like it - I will try with some more advanced features like guide, email, sharing buttons, embed code and few more features already available on flash Nuevoplayer.

Whatever - HTML5 player is huge disadvantage - it will never be as powerful as flash application. But the market is as it is. All we are forced to go with new trends. Let's only hope that also Adobe will follow all those changes and build flash for HTML5, what was already announced.

I dont want to force HTML5 on all viewers, just detect if there is no support for flash and then use HTML5 if not. Like on ***.

Any updates or anything to say to let us wait another 3 month?

Kind regards

Any news.Looks like the modules promised for CS5 are being released separately. Does that mean we are close to getting CS5 released?
