What will CS 4.1 new features be?

i just searched the forum and here what we can/maybe see in 4.1

1. add user via admin
2. Moderator class usergroup
3. Comment Replies and Notification
4. Active Sharing
5. reward point option
6. Sub-Categories
7. FTP upload module

i would love to see Video Conversion Que in the list...

Lets me list some more:
1. ajax/pagination for comments.
2. ajax comments adding.
3. rewamped rating (the one right now doesnt work to well)
4. photos, blogs and photo albums (not sure about this!!!).
5. user wall.
6. user can enable/disable notifications
7. user profiles (users can select template profiles)
8. new flash player
9. ajax share video
10. ajax flag video (with more options).
11. all config options will move to a file (no more database for config, faster loading).
12. probably mod_rewrite will go and we will use PHP based seo_urls + apache multi-views feature.
13. add user via admin
14. add video via admin
15. how many videos to display on every page
16. separate title, meta_desc and keywords for every page

... and a lot more

sub-categories i'm not sure if this feature will be available.

The problem with all this, i dont know if this will be 4.1 or 5.x, i also dont know about the compatibility between 4.x and next-version. Probably a new
template will also be added.

All the above stuff is already done, but needs to be implemented in clipshare. Probably 4.1 or 5.x will only work with PHP 5.x (4.x is already dead).

NOTHING FROM THE ABOVE IS 100% DECIDED (but from what you know in 4.x almost all the users asked was added, the same will be with 5.x).

its sad that you are not sure if 4.1 will have sub-categories it is requested a lot but still you not sure if you want to add it...

can you please tell us what is so complicated doing/having sub-categories?

Hi,

Sometime in september/october. Until then 4.0.x releases will come out, with bug-fixes only. Currently 4.0.8 should be available.

@darkwoods: search the Bug Reporting group for dargre's post and you will see why subcategories is not a good idea. Also most of the video sharing sites dont have subcategories.

@gateway: the new flash player (from what i know) supports ads, pre/post rolling image and flash ads (i dont know exactly when the new flash player
will be released).
