Clip share 4.x designer wanted...

$200 (or so) for individual template sound not real, or someone completely have no idea what ClipShare is, or it will be very basic template, with many pages unfinished or broken for many features.

And don't reply I am not right, until you create or show at least 1 full template.

Be aware of things that looks too cheap to be real.

From other hand you canfind a lot of posts claiming "we can do design" - and when asked for details and examples of already jobs done - nothing in reply.

I think it's because people don't realise the work that goes into a full template. People think theres 6 main pages - Frontpage, video, channels, channel_detail, groups and Members.

In fact there's 66 or near that number pages that need to be handcoded and it takes weeks or months in some cases where as the client isn't willing to pay equivilent to the time put in.

For instance, i have $200 i want a unique custom design done in 2 weeks.

For 6 pages that's doable even putting them into clipshare, but for 66 pages in 2 weeks is just silly talk.

I wouldn't charge under $2000 for a custom design - and i've stopped doing them as i have templates that when done, i need to update again and again seems there's no time off with clipshare design. Thats near my prices for complete custom work these days, a long shot from my first custom design that was $30.

You can of course get them cheaper with doing the following things,

Getting a wrapper, modifying an existing template, or just creating a new header - this can easily make your design unique.

But be wise and be warned, a complete custom design for $200 whoever promises you won't happen to the standard your expecting.

Chris, I agree 100% what you wrote.
Nice to see people who understand what good and well coded template is and what ClipSahre script is.

If you go to MonsterTemplates, you can buy template at $50-60 (of course doesn't include integration), but custom made template for a single client starts at about $2000. And again it doesn't include script like ClipSahre integration.

I can also understand Chris, he stopped creating individual templates.
First it is a problem with adequate money for the time spent on creating template.
Second - serious designer or coder won't agree so easily to leave other projects for a month or so... It could hurt him much more than profits from a single job.

So good advice is to learn things: html, css, smarty. Little bit of PHP also, then trying to build something yourself.
