without reading EVERYTHING here all I have to say is I agree with it yet I dont think it would be effective.

Just as easy as you could make clipshare protected someone will reverse engineer it in minutes.

Maybe I could be wrong but not even Microsoft, a Bagillion(sarcastic number, lol) dollar company can't keep piracy from running wild.

2 Questions:

1. For those of you saying that anything is hackable - please provide me with an example of a piece of software that has been Zend-encoded, decompiled and mass-reproduced.

2. The vBulletin software by Jelsoft - which these forums run on, is not encoded - so please explain to me how they are able to secure their software and continue to successfully produce and market the top forum software out there?

I don't know anything about zend-encoding or decompiling scripts. I was simply stating that there are a lot of people who will go the extra mile to get source code. And if computer software programs can be hacked I thinks web scripts can be too. Im all for the security as long as I can still customize it, just wondering just how effective it will be.

Yeah, there are many scripts that have been decoded from Zend and also been mass-reproduced. The best example I can give is the http://www.goldcoders.com/?page=hyipscript script that is like EVERYWHERE. Just google for "hyipmanager script for sale" or "hyipscript for sale" and you get thousands of sellers, people that sell it for like $5 or nothing.

Zend is easy to decode. I even got one in my MSN-list who work with decode zend-files.

ltsc is right I believe. The first thing is to make important sections of this forum available only to paying customers. There are many people here running illegal licenses asking for support, mods etc.

Exactly! Look all forums except the "Pre-Sales Questions". All who want access to the rest will have to fill in their code they got in the mail + homesite.

I 1000000% agree with Nachen. We may not be able to stop the mass-reproduction completely, but we sure can slow it down. This is what I propose.

1. Danny restricts access to ALL forums to users that aren't verified members
2. To get access back to the forum, Danny REQUIRES that all CLIENTS register their email (the one they used when they bought the script; it can be changed later) and license ID in the Admin CP
3. If that is approved, they get access to all forums.
4. People that are not clients (freelancers, pre-clients) just get access to Announcements, Pre-Sales Question, and Freelance services.

I think that this system will be somewhat effective as many users need to access these forums to make their Clip Share site successful.

I know that there is something like this already, but this proposal is adding a new layer of restriction.

One LAST thing. We need more moderators.

Please share your thoughts on this post.

I also agree with form locking but I also agree that the script should be lock to domain only but not call backs as I hate call back scripts.

You will be able not to stop them but they will slow down.
