(First post)
Praying..... Ok so I have looked over the software and it looks great. I have also looked through some of the posts, and I am left with concerns My first and most important issue that I have that needs to be addressed before I purchase is that of installation. I bought AlstraSoft's Videoshare. ($300) I also paid for server module setup ($30). Then, to have it installed on the server, they contracted out another company to have that installed. ($50). That was three weeks ago, and I still have no server software installed on my Dedicated Server, that I am leasing from GoDaddy for almost $200 bucks a month, so I would not have to migrate from a Virtual Dedicated to an actual Dedicated Server. So obviously, even though Clipshare Pro seems to be "better" (albeit , very similar), more recently updated, and cheaper....I don't feel like forking out another $250 circa to have nothing done. I have seen posts from "Danny" who seems to be the head man in charge, and post regarding him and the company that are regular Forum "posters" I am a bit concerned with only one person running the company, only because of all the MANY MANY emails that have gone back and forth between me and the "staff" at Alstrasoft have included only two names. Now...understand, if "Danny" runs everything himself , and actually takes care of installation and issues (etc) then great. But, most of my emails to Alstrasoft either take to days before a reply (with no results, seeing as my server is still not set up) or they are ignored completly - both by the two individuals at Alstrasoft, as well as the guy at the second company they contracted to have the server installed (which - FYI - was not told to me would be the case prior to purchasing). Now...I have seen many posts throughout this section of the forum saying that the server would be up in running in about two days. Alstrasoft told me the same thing..."A Day or Two".....that was three weeks ago...... (FYI - If you haven't divined by now...I am NOT endorsing Alstrasoft..... They DO NOT offer ANYTHING they claim to....I mean NOTHING. I got ripped off completly.... YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED) So what I am asking is some case examples from others that have had their software/server installed. Please forward me your opinions, expiriences, and your URL's to running servers/websites. And my question is ( I suppose to Danny ) is ...well....is it really going to take two days to install? And if so...can it be installed on GoDaddy servers? If so..and if my server gets installed...I will be very happy, and be amongst those to sing your praises...as some here do.... But I am hesitant, and weary of getting burned....and I HAVE been burned...... So there it is. I have to start here before I ask specific questions about the software....I have a couple specific questions...but I will wait for that.... Thanks in advance to all that can help me out with this. I look forward to your responses and assistance. Thx Rock-n-Roll Jaek |

I have had a great experience here. My script was installed on my dedi server by the staff for $25. They also configured my server for $50. They responded to my ticket requests within 24 hours. I hired several members of the forum to install players, templates, mods & stuff like that to my site...you can pm if you would like. I would encourage you to seriously consider ordering the liscense. The script has been working fine for me. Sorry about your experiences with Altrasoft...I've hear similar horry stories about them much too often...hope this helps... |

What did they need to configure? And how long did it take for your server to be installed? I hired several members of the forum to install players, templates, mods & stuff like that to my site Can you give me an example or two? Can you direct me to your website? Thx Jaek |

yeah,
its def. not like astralsoft, i'm in the process of having my script installed (its actually installed and the staff is just working out some bugs) i also had the server set up. the server set up took about a day and a half, and the script install was done basically overnight. usually the staff will respond to tickets that have direct relation to a product or service purchased within a day if not sooner. if it doesnt relate to a purchase you may not get the quickest response, but you can always bother the forum. plus you'll prob figure out ur problem anyway and render your trouble ticket moot. glad to see your going balls deep on a server right off the bat, i take it youre anticipating large amounts of traffic, you may want to consider keeping your db on a seperate server because the mysql portion of code isnt really optimized, however there is an ongoing discussion about a fix to double the speed of the db response by updating the adobdb file, to a less server intensive version, not sure what the final verdict will be but so far reaction seems positive. scalability is a concern, my general feeling is that the "out of the box" script works best with around 50 - 300 users maybe more, but it really isnt ready to "go big" right out of the box, thats not saying that the script you get cant be modded and tweaked, cajoled and winnowed to handle huge spikes and waves of traffic, but the potential is there. my feeling is that this is a good company who wants to do right by their customers, they may be growing a bit faster than the staff can keep up with, but so far they're doing a solid job. most of the stuff in paragraph 3 is information gleened not from my own personal experience but from the experiences ive read about from other forum folk, so take it as you will. if anyone wants to corroborate or dispute these statements i'd welcome the debate. |

1) Alstrasoft's the Biggest SCAMMERS on the net. I bought the social script from them and it had major bugs that I had to fix (they couldn't figure it out) as well as not answering support emails for over 2 weeks.
2) There's actually a team of people that do the installations and not just Danny. 3) The forum is really helpful and we're here to please! |

I am in the same boat. Still waiting for the installation of social script. Since you already fix the bugs, would you be willing to fix mine when installed?
Please pm me. Thank you. |
